Qualcomm, a leading semiconductor company, is on the brink of unveiling its latest innovation at an upcoming launch event scheduled for March 18. Speculations are rife that the company will introduce its newest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, alongside the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.Reports suggest that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is a modified version of the highly acclaimed Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, boasting a similar CPU configuration. It is anticipated to feature a single high-performance core, four medium-performance cores (Cortex-A720), and three efficiency cores (Cortex-A520).
All cores are expected to operate at lower clock speeds, with the high-performance core, based on Cortex-X4, reaching a peak clock speed of 3.01GHz. Moreover, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is anticipated to incorporate an integrated AI processor, enhancing its capabilities further.Despite similarities in connectivity, image processing, and networking features with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is projected to deliver improved power efficiency due to its lower clock speeds, potentially resulting in extended battery life for devices equipped with this processor.
Qualcomm is rumored to introduce the new Adreno 735 graphics chip with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, offering a lower-powered alternative to the Adreno 750 found in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. While the upcoming processor may not match the performance levels of its predecessor due to reduced clock speeds, it is expected to cater to specific market needs effectively. Alongside the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, Qualcomm is also anticipated to unveil the mid-tier Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, featuring flagship-grade Adreno 732 graphics, positioning it as a promising choice for upcoming mid-tier smartphones seeking impressive graphics performance.
