DoorDash has rolled out SafeChat+, a new feature designed to enhance safety measures within its platform. This advancement builds upon SafeChat, previously operated by DoorDash's Trust & Safety team, which manually screened chats for verbal abuse. According to the company, SafeChat+ integrates superior technology capable of discerning subtle nuances and identifying threats that may not align with specific keywords. DoorDash emphasizes that verbal abuse and harassment constitute the most prevalent safety issues on its platform, and the introduction of SafeChat+ is anticipated to further diminish such incidents significantly.
Citing a commitment to bolstering safety standards, DoorDash underscores its belief that the implementation of SafeChat+ will yield a meaningful reduction in overall safety-related incidents. The company highlights that over 99.99% of deliveries facilitated through its platform are completed without encountering safety concerns. This move aligns with DoorDash's ongoing efforts to prioritize user safety and foster a secure environment for both delivery drivers and customers alike.
In addition to SafeChat+, DoorDash offers SafeDash, an integrated toolkit within its app. SafeDash enables Dashers to swiftly connect with ADT agents in emergencies, facilitating the sharing of crucial location and other pertinent information with 911 services. This comprehensive approach underscores DoorDash's dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals engaged with its platform.
